Fruits And Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are so important and they’re completely undervalued when it comes to good nutrition and giving your body all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that it needs. Fruits and vegetables are meant to be the main component of our diets as humans and now we eat less of them than we do anything else. They are so so important because they provide our body with everything it needs to take care of ourself and fruits and vegetables are the only type of food that you won’t gain weight from eating. The standards of nutrition tell us that we’re meant to be eating at least five but more like nine servings every single day. This can be really difficult for a lot of people though because many people don’t really care for fruits and vegetables as much as they probably should but still know that they need to eat healthy. However there are some ways that you can make sure you are getting the proper amounts of these foods in your diet each day as long as you use some little tips and tricks to get them all to fit in.
One easy way is to eat fruit or vegetables on the go as you’re commuting to work, walking to your office or your car, driving kids to school, walking to school yourself and so forth. When you eat while you’re on the go like these you aren’t as focused on what you’re eating so if you don’t really care for the taste of a certain fruit or veggie, eating it while you’re on the move will make it a lot less noticeable. Don’t do this with sugary snacks or junk food thought because you won’t notice how much you’re eating of it.
You can also grab ready make snacks and salads to have at your desk or wherever you might be. Celery, little carrots, broccoli, baby tomatoes and so forth are all really easy to carry around with you and they make great little snacks whenever you find yourself being tempted by the vending machine. Having little bags of dried fruit at work or in your bag can make it easy to just pull those out really fast instead of debating whether or not you should buy that candy bar. If you already have a snack the option isn’t there and yo don’t have to stress out over it.
Try incorporating these foods into the normal dishes you eat regularly so that you don’t feel like you’re “eating healthy” so much as you are just trying a new ingredient. Top your pizza with spinach, peppers, mushrooms, olives and so forth. Instead of putting butter on toast try cream cheese with some peach slices. Don’t drown waffles in powdered sugar or whipped cream, try some natural jam with some berries on it. When it comes to berries they make great snacks as well and you can make smoothies with them to start your morning out with as opposed to less healthy drinks like coffee or chocolate milk. You can even mix a few vegetables in with a berry smoothie and if you get the combinations right you won’t even be able to tell that they’re in there.
For the most part it really isn’t hard to get all the fruits and vegetables you need to eat in a day into your diet as long as you’re willing to put in a little work and preparation and stay committed to eating better. Follow the tips and ideas above and in no time you’ll be able to eat all the fruits and vegetables you want in a day. Good luck!
