Are Vegan Diets Really The Best?

Because of all the good things we hear about people who are on a vegetarian, vegan, or even raw vegan diet, it can be difficult for us not to think that but there are many who believe that it really isn’t the best diet for a person to be on. Honestly, this is mostly just crap. So much of this is just propaganda that is put out by meat and dairy companies and there are so many benefits from being a vegetarian or a vegan. The fact is that there are plenty of really good reasons why people decide to be vegetarian and there is more than enough evidence that shows how good such a lifestyle is for you. It’s been proven across the board that vegetarians have lower levels of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and obesity. It’s well know that a diet that is high in meat is the fastest way to do some serious damage to your body because we simply aren’t designed to eat meat the way that most people think that we are. A lot of people think that simply because we’re capable of eating animal means that we’re supposed to. We’re also capable of turning corn into just about any kind of food you can think of as well as injecting our drinks and grocery store products with all kinds of chemicals, preservatives, and food additives but that doesn’t mean it’s a good thing for us to do. Simply because we can eat meat doesn’t mean we should.

The same kinds of reasoning apply to being a vegan. When it comes to health the improvements are pretty amazing. Not having dairy and meat in your diet can make a big difference in the way that your body is able to keep itself healthy. Since humans aren’t really designed to be able to digest meat and dairy when you stop putting those things in your body you’re able to clear out such substances and give your body a chance to clean itself from the inside out instead of giving it more toxins to try to cope with and remove. We don’t produce enough stomach acid to digest meat and we don’t create the enzyme that digests dairy products so it’s really difficult for our body to break down and a lot of it can get stuck in our digestive system and cause lots of ongoing problems. These kinds of products can also make it more difficult to exercise properly, can keep your sinuses in a state of disarray and can generally make your life a lot harder than if you were to not consume them. Animal products are also significantly linked to higher rates of cancer and degenerative diseases as well as lots of ongoing health problems and many allergies are related to the consumption of milk products early in life. Many young people decide to go vegan because of the extra energy and the improved ability to study that you can get from changing your eating habits this way - it can also keep your skin and hair looking really nice which many people find to be an important benefit as well. The mental benefits alone can be worth the change to going away from animal products and many people often find that after switching to a vegan diet they lose their interest in eating animal products and don’t want to go back.

A lot of people suggest that vegetarians aren’t able to get the proper amounts of protein, calcium, and specific vitamins like B12 in their diet without eating meat. This really isn’t true at all and many of the ideas that support it are based on warped research done by the meat and dairy companies so that people are convinced their products are still good for them and necessary for their health. It’s been proven though that milk produced in the U.S. is actually deficient in calcium because of the amount of proteins it has that leech it out and that compared to other vegetables meat is actually a very poor source of protein. This is where all the arguments come from against veganism and vegetarianism. In fact people are so used to listening to what big American food industries tell them is the truth that they really can’t even distinguish for themselves what is or isn’t fact anymore. We walk around so convinced that just because we saw it on tv or read about it in a magazine means that it’s the absolute truth when really people are just quoting other people who have done studies who were bullied or persuaded into manipulating their findings to serve the people that were paying for the studies. Very few parts of the information we have about our food here in modern america is the truth.

There are many reasons to become vegetarian - not only for your health but also because of all the benefits to the environment it has and the kinder treatment of animals that many people are very concerned with. Ultimately it’s a personal choice that everyone has to work out for themselves. There are also many reasons to be vegan and not only is being vegan great for your health it’s also kinder to the animals and much kinder to the planet. If every family cut back their meat consumption to just one night a week it would drastically change the way our country consumes food and it could help a lot of other people in the world as well. The choice is essentially yours. You can continue to believe what other people tell you, conform to ideas that are perpetuated by self-serving industries, and eventually watch your health, along with the health of your family and friends, completely go down the drain, or you can learn to think, speak, and act on your own behalf and make smart decisions that will take you forward into a world of better health and happiness.
